01. A fictional character you identify with and why.
If I were to be honest, I would say Marianne Dashwood. I tend to lean heavily towards the dramatic side of things, though not as openly expressed as she tends to be, and while I’m not a hopeless romantic, I find myself daydreaming about random things more times than I care to count. We both have a love of nature, as I’d much rather spend my time exploring the country-side than doing my chores. That, combined with the fact that we both LOVE the piano and singing…and the fact that I’ve been told multiple times that I look and play like the new BBC version’s Marianne (perhaps more from some angles than others)…I think the identification is complete. Lol. =)
02. Your earliest memory of reading or being read to.
Hmm. I remember acting out stories in 1st grade with my class, as the teacher read them. Does that count? =)
03. Your favorite book aged 9 ½, or 13 ¾, whichever you remember best.
Haa haa! At that age, definitely the American Girl series. I think Felicity was always my favorite. I love the Colonial era and all the etiquette stuff. ;)
04. The book that’s been on your shelves the longest.
Oh my… um…I would think it would be the American Girl books.
05. A book you acquired in some interesting way.
I received a copy of Thomas Paine’s Common Sense after taking a tour around Historic Philidelphia with Timothy Matlock and Thomas Paine. =) (it was a re-enactment) It’s probably not all that interesting, but it’s the best I got. Lol.
06. A book with a story for you, that reminds you of something specific in your life (a person, a place, a time). Hmm… I have a 1929 copy of Little Women that I bought at an antique store in Strasburg Pennsylvania on a trip with my grandparents, as well as an 1817 copy of Schiller's William Tell in German. That was an awesome trip! And a really cool buy. ;)
07. What fictional character are you (secretly) in love with.
Hee hee. I have several actually. But I shall not tell. At least on this post. =D
08. The last book you acquired, and how (begged, bought, borrowed?)
The last book I acquired is called Waterfall, by Lisa T. Bergren. I actually have not read it yet, because it was a co-buy with a friend and I let her read it first. Lol. But I've read the prologue and 1st chapter...so I'm exicted to read it now.
09. Your current read, your last read and the book you’ll read next.
My current read…well I have two. Haa haa. One is The Fellowship of the Ring, and the other is Les Miserables. My last read is one of my many Nancy Drew books. I had a few that I hadn’t even read yet. (I found out the other day there are about 175 in the Mystery Stories series…let’s just say, I’m not sure I’m gonna collect all of those. Haa haa). The book I’ll read next is The Two Towers . I’ve read them before, but I felt I should read them again, as I was pretty young the first time around.
10. What author do you own the most books by and why?
Hmmm. Tolkien. I have at least 3 copies of Lord of the Rings series. Don’t ask. =)
(More questions coming soon!)
